If you are dreaming of having an intimate Destination Wedding then the Victoria House an award winning luxury resort located on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize is a venue to really consider.

After seeing Belize on an epsiode of  House Hunters International (one of our favourite shows) and hearing so many wonderful things from our friends who had travelled to Belize we decided to make a trip down to see for ourselves what all the hype was about. We were not disappointed. Located in the Caribbean, Ambergris Caye is the largest island in Belize. San Pedro is the only town on the island and the main mode of transportation are golf carts. With it’s beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees and vivid blue water the island is a tropical paradise.

I fell in love with Victoria House the moment I saw the pictures and knew this would be the place we had to stay. The resort was even more breath taking than I imagined and there was a peacefulness there that I did not expect.

The resort has lush tropical gardens, white sandy beaches, two amazing pools and many different areas just to lounge and enjoy the surroundings. Swinging on a beach hammock was one my favorite past times! The best part for me I have to say were the accommodations! The resort is made up of Casitas, Plantation Rooms, Suites & Private Villas all very unique in their own way. The Plantation style buildings mixed with the Island architecture gives you the sense of stepping back in time.

I was elated when I heard there was going to be a wedding at the resort the day we arrived as I love everything and anything weddings! I would be able to witness first hand a wedding on the resort and also be able to write about it. The thing which struck me most about this beach wedding was the intimacy as the beach is quite secluded and was not over run with tourists.

I had the pleasure of speaking to the onsite Event Planner Javier who had organized the wedding and decorated the wedding himself with the Island’s flora. His passion and enthusiasm for his job was extremely touching. He told me how much he loved doing what he does and how happy it made him. I was happy to have been able to share the experience with a fellow Wedding Planner. Javier was so gracious and allowed me to take the pictures of the wedding that are posted below.

The resort can accommodate up to 110 guests, you can rent out the entire venue for you and your guests for the most private of affairs. Or if you decide you want a more intimate event be it a wedding, a vow renewal, an elopement, your honeymoon or anniversary this magical place is it!
