Following their beautiful destination wedding in Mexico, Manisha & Phil returned to Vancouver to celebrate their nuptials with friends and family back home. The theme of the reception was inspired by Manisha’s favorite color – a soft green – and was incorporated into every aspect of the party, including the bride’s lengha (bridal dress) which was created from soft green materials mixed with subtle gold accents. The lengha was designed especially for the bride, and she looked phenomenal! Her hair and make up were exquisite, and complemented the lengha perfectly.
When I say that the green theme was everywhere, I mean it. We added as much green as we possibly could, including party favors of mini bamboo plants, green & white lilies adorning the cake, and even green wine bottles placed on the dining tables, complete with custom-made labels created from the couple’s engagement photos. And the centerpieces? They were, of course, green hydrangeas!
The bride & groom really wanted to do something special for their guests, so had been taking secret ballroom dancing lessons in the lead up to the big day. When the time came for them to show off their skills during their first dance, you could hear the sounds of jaws hitting the floor! No one expected Manisha and Phil to perform such an impressive and challenging dance routine so effortlessly, and it became one of the most memorable parts of the evening.
I say ‘one’ of the most memorable parts – there were lots! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Phil serenaded Manisha with Jason Mraz’s ‘You Belong to Me’. Singing and playing the guitar at the same time, he almost stole the show from the bride – but not quite!
Manisha had her very own treasured, touching, and sweet moment with her mother. As the bride’s father had sadly passed, the traditional father/daughter dance was replaced with a mother/daughter dance, and the tears just wouldn’t stop flowing.
This was a wedding that was filled with tons of love, laughter and dancing. It was a chance for the bride & groom to celebrate with their loving friends and family, but also remember those who couldn’t be there with them.
